n.
A device used to print, impress, perforate or emboss a design or letters on an item, especially paper.
A mark made by such a device.
A small piece of printed paper attached to a letter or container to indicate the payment of duties, taxes, or postage.

Notes
Stamps1 are usually small and intended for hand use. The letters or design are typically raised. Stamps are commonly inked or used to transfer a pigment or metal from foil. A blind stamp uses no such ink or pigment, and leaves only an impression of the design.
