compilation

n. A work assembled from a variety of material taken from various sources to create a new work; an anthology.

Notes

A compilation may also include new material, especially material that serves as an introduction, that provides a bridge between or commentary on the material from other sources, or that closes the work. Often used to describe motion pictures and sound recordings.
