web page
n.
A resource accessed using the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) and rendered by a browser for display or printing.
Notes
In its simplest form the resource is a file, typically containing text formatted for display using Hypertext Markup Language (HTML). 'Web page' connotes a base file of MIME type text/html, which may incorporate other files, such as graphics, text included from other files, or Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). It may be a composite of several files assembled using frames. Web pages commonly use the extension .html or .htm, although the extensions .asp, .cfm, .cgi, .php, and .jsp may indicate server-side processing of files that are ultimately delivered and rendered as text/html. A web page may be static, with fixed content, or dynamic, with changing content derived from a database.
