Targets1 often contain graphic patterns, such as a series of progressively closer parallel lines, used to test for resolution and astigmatism. A gray scale or color tablet may be used to match the tonal range and colors in the reproduction with the original. - Targets2 often contain information that describe the materials, problems with the originals, missing materials, or the filming process.
